Note: NYC's Think Gallery will present an art installation by East Village-based mixed-media artist Rachael Sage during the months of September and October. Sage, who primarily paints with acrylics and watercolors, also works in collage (using man-made and organic materials such as sequins, rhinestones, newspaper, dried flowers and eggshells). Sage, who is also a poet and musician who’s released a dozen albums via MPress Records, names Keith Haring, Miro, Chagall and Patricia Field among her visual influences. As an artist, she is known for her unique drawing style, dense, colorful paintings and glittery, fabric-painted wearable art (which often doubles as stage-wear for her performances). Some of Sage's one-of-a-kind decorated clothing will also be on display alongside her paintings, as a nod to New York Fashion Week. The official reception for Sage's exhibition coincides with the last day of New York Fashion Week: September 15th from 7-9pm. Free wine will be served and locals can meet the artist as she unveils her latest fashion-inspired artwork.
