Rachael Sage: “Tchatchkes & Latkes” @ Joe’s Pub December 23

“Comedienne and songstress Rachael Sage brings her signature ‘What’s a Jewish girl to do?’ shtick to a special holiday-themed performance that includes…her family’s extensive collection of fine menorahs, sultry piano songs, and special guests like cellist Dave Eggar (Coldplay, the Who) and the “Rosh Hashanah Girl” from YouTube” – New York Magazine

“Rachael Sage’s talent and ‘what’s a Jewish girl to do?’ observations…could turn out to be the unlikely hit of Fringe 2009” – The Herald (Edinburgh)

“Sage (is) the Jewish Norah Jones” – Washington Jewish Week

“Sage’s songs blend old-world melodies with whimsical riffs, implanting both modern themes and painful historical events. The resulting sound…boldly recalls a rich Jewish cultural heritage.” – Forward

Local funny girl and art-pop songstress Rachael Sage returns to Joe’s Pub for a special holiday edition of her latest musical mishugas, “Sequins & Shpiel!” (which debuted earlier this year at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, to rave reviews).
