Rachael Sage: “Sequins & Shpiel”
In preparation for her full-week run at Scotland’s renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival, art-pop songstress Rachael Sage will be previewing her show “Sequins & Shpiel” for one night only at one of NYC’s most beautiful venues, DROM. The always-stunning Noe Venable will perform an opening set.
Sage, who has performed with the New York City Ballet and studied at the legendary Actors Studio, will weave songs from her eight-album discography with shpiel about her life as a former ballerina, adventures on the road, and her self-proclaimed “wacky Jewish family.” Expect a healthy mix of vaudevillian shtick, playful Yiddishkeit and Sage’s signature pianistic flair.
Featuring the extraordinary talents of Dave Eggar on cello (Evanescence, Coldplay, The Who) and Quinn on percussion (Tracy Chapman, Jesca Hoop, Marshall Crenshaw), “Sequins & Shpiel” will preview in the U.S. for one evening only.
